Amazon has removed a lot of the content from their site. Now, if you type in candy, the Candy Doll Collection featuring elementary aged Western models in provocative poses and clothing, does NOT come up.
Rakuten has removed some images from their site, but is still selling this and others. Amazon is still selling like content, that comes up with different key words but I imagine that it cannot all be removed in a day. I hope they will continue to make changes to reflect the standards of Amazon US.
I am really not the best spokesperson for this subject, as I am NOT an expert on Japanese law or on this subject. I am just a mother, concerned about the content that came up when I was searching for Halloween candy. Maybe another person or entity can take the baton from here.
Signing off for now, from Tokyo.

petition to help stop child pornography from being sold
Petition link:
https://www.change.org/p/amazon-amazon-need-to-remove-child-pornography-and-exploitation-books-and-dvds-from-their-amazon-japan-website#share
In light of the recent kidnapping of a 6 year girl in Kobe by a child predator
-- her mutilated body only just found – it seems particularly important to take
action now. These types of DVDs and books
being sold -- aids in the perversions of
child predators.

Some sidenotes:
To
clarify: I am not an expert on this subject. I am just an mother who has filed
a complaint to Amazon, Japan because I expect higher standards from a publically listed US
company.
Amazon Japan not responding to complaints about child exploitation DVDs being sold
This Halloween season, if you live in Japan, you better not type in the word "candy" on Amazon Japan's website. Because on the top 10 most popular hits, you're going to be FLOORED at what comes up: photo books and DVDs of underage Western girl models---most of them under the age of 10 years old---posing in sexy underwear in provocative positions.
That's what happened to me when I sat down at my computer last week, to order Halloween candy, with my 6 year old daughter next to me. If you click it (as I did to get info to report the seller), a whole lot more, with 5 star ratings, come up. It's just disgusting.
I filed a complaint with an Amazon customer representative October 6th 12:25PM on an online chat session.
As of today, it has not been removed and it has been a week.

Radiation-free, organic, groceries, baby formula, etc. from the States, free shipping to Japan. U.S. prices.
Living in Japan, where there is not only a big radiation concern, but there is not a very good selection of organic foods, I am a HUGE, HUGE fan of iHerb.
Not only are the prices the same as the States, but the shipping is free or $4 most of the time (it can vary with promotions).
I found this website iherb, based in the States, that ships EVERYTHING to Japan in just 3-5 days, with either FREE shipping or just $4. It's amazing. It has EVERYTHING from vitamins, honey, olive oil, sugar, flour, cereal, spices, shampoo, washing detergent, lotions, herb teas... baby snacks, kids snacks, health food, cough medicine, toothpaste, Chia seeds, nuts, grains, deoderant...
It's like an online whole foods.
I swear that I am their best customer. They even give me a 10% discount since I order regularly. Lots of perks.
Here are my tips for ordering:
1. If a message comes up saying that they cannot ship that product to Japan, try a different brand
(We had to go through 3 brands to get chia seeds)
2. Keep the order UNDER $160 per time, to avoid custom taxes
3. Use this code to receive $10 off your first order: YUQ399
I just visited my kitchen and took some photos of some products I regularly order from iherb. Excellent for those with allergies or special dietary needs. The prices are US prices. The formulas have not been modified to fit Japan so you can get things that are not available in Japan. These products will cost double or triple (IF you can find them) if purchased at an international supermarket.

With the radiation issues here in Japan, I take precautions. You must if you are living in Japan. That's reality. I won't gamble in this area, especially with children.
Everything I buy, other than raw food, is from overseas (I order veggies and milk from Kyushu but that's another story). I'm especially careful about infant formula and what my children consume. I want not only radiation free, but also organic, when possible.

How to sponsor a visa
There are a lot of rules about sponsoring visas. It can be tough, but not impossible, if you have a good immigration lawyer who can walk you through the process.
Some agencies will charge and arm and a leg. I was quoted close to 300,000 yen for the paperwork to file for my perminant visa, from a large firm. I did some research online and found a guy who did it for 40,000 yen for me. He is trustworthy and very dedicated. I have used his services successfully for 3 visas and he is in the process of sponsoring an English teacher for my school now.

Firefighters Regional Championships, MUST see for kids in Tokyo
Today was my son's dream come TRUE!
Firefighter Regional Championships at Shiba Park. There must have been over a hundred firefighters performing drills, running with hoses and doing all sorts of super hero type poses.
It was an official tournament Witt judges, flags, announcements, etc.
Shibakoen park was filled with all types of fire engines. And the best part of this all is that it is in a grassy park. So, the kids can run around and catch bugs too. I brought out a picnic sheet and lunch and enjoyed the view of Tokyo Tower while my kids were in heaven!
And, the best thing is, there is a State Championship, same place! It's free to the public.
Bring your family out on Sunday, June 16th to Shibakoen, grassy area on Hibiya Dori. The championships will be going on from morning until late afternoon.
